Kootenai Moving

Mover was hired by my elderly sister for a relatively small load of furniture and personal effects from Castlegar to small town Saskatchewan. Arrangements were made 2 weeks prior and quoted by Craig. One day before departure, the mover wanted to increase the previous quote by a thousand dollars…he said he miss quoted and had to have more money. I told my sister that to find another mover was not going to happen in less than a day. I called the u haul dealer and reserved a truck. Picked the truck up early the next morning and loaded the contents of her storage locker and drove to her new home in less than 10 hours. Kootenai movers were to charge 4000+ dollars for this. All in I did it for 1700. Shame on you Craig.

Kootenai Moving helped us with a long distance move from Surrey to Nelson. From the moment I found them online and had first contact with the owner Craig I was impressed. He responded to my initial email request within a few hours and spent nearly an hour on the phone working out a quote for us. Each time I contacted him he was extremely patient and caring. On moving day he showed up with his crew on time and with the most positive attitude I have ever seen from a moving company!Our items were delivered exactly on the date and time requested. There was a minor issue with accidental damage to a single dining room chair which Craig promptly had repaired within 3 days. As this was our first move in over 17 years we were very anxious but Craig and his guys helped to put our nerves at ease. I cannot say enough positive things about Craig and his fantastic crew. These guys are definitely worth the money!!

The owner was not very honest. We were helping a family friend move from Nelson to White Rock. she is 79 and in poor health. We made the arrangements with the owner regarding how the move was to go and none of the arrangements we made were kept my the movers. They charged more than agreed. They piggy backed another move and yet did not discount her. they caused damage to the clients goods. they held this poor womans goods hostage until she agreed to pay her and made her sign an invoice for more charges.they used students with no experience. When we contacted them regarding the problems and the billing, they did not respond to try to make things right. We would not recoomend this company.
